About CHADAHS

CHADAHS is a society of local allotment holders and gardeners. Allotment holders come mainly from the sites at Shepherds Hill and Alexandra Palace. Gardeners come from across the surrounding area of the borough of Haringey! The society is managed by an elected committee.

Membership is only £2 per year , and allows you to buy goods from the trading sheds, free entry into our Summer Show, and ensures you will hear about events such as our plant sale and Summer trip. You DO NOT have to be an allotment holder to join the society or enter the show! It's easy to join - just ask at our trading sheds or phone or send us an email (see Contacts).

What are the Benefits to Society Members?

  • Discount Goods!

All Society Members are able to purchase a wide variety of goods, many of which are difficult to obtain elsewhere, and all of which are very competitively priced.

For this year (2008), we organised a bulk order of a wonderful range of 37 different varieties of seed potatoes.

Later this year, we will again be selling at least one if not two 'green manure' seeds. Green manures are crops which you plant into empty ground in late summer and which grow over winter, stopping nutrients from washing away, fixing nitrogen, and helping break up the soil. Our prices are very low compared with commercial packets.

  • Expert Advice!

You will also have the wide ranging expertise of other local gardeners and allotment holders. From beginners to professionals, our membership covers enthusiasts from all walks of life and enables the sharing of knowledge.

  • Summer Show

You can come and enjoy - or even better - enter some of your produce into - one of London's best and friendliest local Summer Shows.

  • Summer Trip

Advance notice and booking for our annual trip to a place of 'growing' interest. Always enjoyable and if the coast is within range, we have a tradition of trying to include a paddle and an ice-cream on the beach!
